Goodmans Spotify Module

The Goodmans Spotify module is an brilliant way to give additional functionality to an old hifi or set of speakers you have laying around. The little module hooks into a sound system and alows Spotify to be played through the connected device. Similar to a Bluetooth speaker but better as it is not reliant on your phone staying within Bluetooth range.
The modules are usb powered and have an headphone jack and optical output. The output is then connected to the aux jack or optical in on the speaker system you are using. You then connect the module to you WiFi network through its Web interface and then you can see the module in you connected devices list in Spotify.it's that easy! To play music through that device all you need to do is tap the device name from the list.
This functionality is also provided by amazon echo devices which is also really convenient however I use these Goodmans modules in areas where I want to have music but not use alexa, such as in the garden. I have fixed waterproof speakers in the garden but wouldn't want to have an echo device out in the garden all the time for obvious reasons...
Connecting the Goodmans module up to the amplifier for the garden speaker gives me the ability to be able to use Spotify tunes in the garden and control it all from my phone. One downside to these modules is that you are currently unable to be added to Spotify groups but hopefully this functionality will be added in the future.
